Job Duties:
The Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Team Lead will direct the work of staff of the ESD as related to incident management, and administer tools that support incident management. This position provides leadership customer service expertise, and advanced technical expertise in enterprise services, procedures, and server, mainframe and wide area network infrastructure. The assignments have significant departmental impact, cross agency lines, involve a large number of complex variables and require integration/revision of major systems. This work will have a major impact on the users of the Division of Enterprise Technology IT Services and customer relationships. This position is responsible to develop, document, automate, and maintain the processes, systems, and procedures relevant to the ongoing operation of the Enterprise Service Desk. The scope of the responsibilities in this position includes citizens, local governments, state agencies, and DET staff. The person in this position must be knowledgeable in Service Management and Incident Management, problem diagnosis, process and procedure development, and have a broad knowledge of desktop, server, applications delivery and networking knowledge.
The Enterprise Service desk is a 24x7x365 operation, so this position may occasionally be required to work alternate shifts.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate for this position will have knowledge of planning and operating techniques used in a large computing facility and advanced problem diagnostic techniques and skills. This position requires knowledge of Cisco IOS, networking architecture and components, and routing protocols, and network diagnostic tools. In addition, this position requires knowledge of server operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows2000, Unix, and Linux and systems analysis and consulting techniques. This position requires knowledge of methods of planning, organizing, and coordinating assignments of considerable diversity. This position requires proven customer service skills, strong leadership, interpersonal and human relations skills, and excellent communication and team skills.
