Risk Factors
Activities that increase your risk for developing a MSD include:
- Sustained awkward postures or reaching
- Contact stress caused by resting the
wrist on a hard edge
- Insufficient rest/recovery
- Poor work habits (slouching in chair,
cradling phone, etc.)
- Repetition (doing a particular movement
over and over)
- Insufficient lighting
- Excessive force or weight lifted (using
excessive force when keying)
We call these risk factors, and your chance of developing
a MSD increases with each one that effects your work environment.
