Risk Factors
Activities that increase your risk for developing a MSD include:

  • Sustained awkward postures or reaching
  • Contact stress caused by resting the wrist on a hard edge
  • Insufficient rest/recovery
  • Poor work habits (slouching in chair, cradling phone, etc.)
  • Repetition (doing a particular movement over and over)
  • Insufficient lighting
  • Excessive force or weight lifted (using excessive force when keying)
